We are a unique microschool designed to support children with exceptional needs, operating within the Behavior Analysis Solutions (BAS) clinic. This FAQ page will help parents better understand our mission, structure, and services.
What is Growing Learners Academy?
Growing Learners Academy is a microschool that provides personalized academic instruction to children receiving ABA therapy through Behavior Analysis Solutions. Our school operates under Florida’s Home Education option, a parent-directed program recognized by the Florida Department of Education. It satisfies the legal requirement for school attendance and allows parents flexibility in their child’s educational journey.
At Growing Learners, students receive core instruction in Math and English Language Arts, along with daily enrichment classes such as Art, Music, Science, and Social-Emotional Learning. Instruction is delivered through a mix of whole group, small group, and one-on-one sessions, tailored to each student’s learning level. These services are provided as part of a private tutoring model within a microschool setting.
How does Growing Learners differ from ABA therapy services?
While both services work hand-in-hand, they serve different purposes:
ABA Therapy (Behavior Analysis Solutions):
Growing Learners Academy:
* Focuses on behavioral development, communication, and skill-building, funded by insurance.
* Focuses on academic instruction, delivered by certified special education teachers.
Our teaching and therapy teams collaborate daily to ensure your child receives comprehensive academic and behavioral support, allowing them to thrive in both learning and life skills.
What is the school schedule at Growing Learners Academy?
We follow the Pinellas County School District calendar, operating approximately 180 school days per year.
Typical school hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
What is the cost of attending Growing Learners Academy?
While ABA therapy is typically covered by insurance, tuition for Growing Learners Academy is funded through Florida’s Step Up for Students Scholarship Program. This program provides scholarships to families of children with exceptional needs who pursue education outside the traditional public school system.

Where is the school located?
Is transportation provided?
• We are conveniently located at the Behavior Analysis Solutions clinic:

• At this time, Growing Learners Academy does not offer transportation. Families are responsible for drop-off and pick-up, although some families choose to use the PSTA van system for additional support.
